Mumbai Textile Merchants' Mahajan

Mumbai Textile Merchants’ Mahajan also known as The Bombay Piece Goods Merchants’ Association was established in the year 1881, vikram sawant 1937 by late.Seth Govindji Thackersey Mulji which has successfully completed its 139th year in 2020. Since 1881 several traders of Mulji Jetha Market as well as other surrounding textile markets became part of this association for the welfare of textile industry as well traders.

Today Mumbai Textile Merchants’ Mahajan is one of the oldest textile associations in India who has immensely helped its members in its best efficient way.

Membership

Since 1881 Mumbai Textile Merchants’ Mahajan has enrolled many traders within the markets as well as outside the textile market ranging from textile manufacturers, traders to agents across Mumbai and Bhiwandi.

Members of Mahajan have also contributed to a great extent in making sure that Mahajans integrity is intact. Currently as many as 1000 plus members are now part of this 139 year old association and we invite many more to be part of this association which shall benefit them in return. Mahajan has successfully conducted cultural programs like Holi and Diwali get-togethers where members of mahajan as well other association heads have been invited, these get-togethers have indeed helped in bonding of the members which has boosted textile trade.

Mumbai Textile Merchant’s Mahajan has introduced Whatsapp service which provides information about Textile trade, GST , Arbitration etc.

Bombay Piece Goods Merchants' Mahajan Charity Trust (Reg.)

Mumbai Textile Merchants’ Mahajan has taken up different projects for the benefits of traders and textile industry which was much appreciated in the form Textile Fair 1996, Textile Fair & Fashion Show in 2006, Fund Raising event- Musical Night in 2020.

Mahajan’s Charitable Trust has immensely contributed in many relief funds at various places such as Kutch Earthquakes relief fund, Morbi Floods, Bihar Floods and much more. Textile traders of M. J. Market as well as other surrounding textile markets also contributed in helping the affected people by way of sending food packages, clothes etc.

Bombay Piece Goods Merchants Mahajan is very proud to be associated with many medical associations and successfully organized medical camps such as blood donation, full body check-up, eye check-up with free spectacles and recently included physiotherapy-osteopathy sessions.

Mahajan’s Charitable Trust provides educational funds to Gumasta and Mathadis children thus providing them much relief.

During the Covid-19 pandemic Mahajan’s Charitable introduced Bus Service so as to help traders and their staff as well as agents to reach their respective textile markets which was a huge success.

Arbitration

Mumbai Textile Merchants’ Mahajan has one of the strongest Arbitration committee which has been acknowledged by Hon.High Court of Mumbai. Success ratio of Mahajan’s arbitration committee is above 90% which is commendable and helped traders to recover their debts to a big extent.

Today, Mahajans arbitration committee has one the best arbitrators who by their experience have helped traders in achieving their bad debts. Currently, Mahajan has a team which consists of experience and youth who strive hard to achieve the goals which will benefit textile traders and the textile community.
